Yes the Mormon church pays Tithing 10% of their income but other Churches also have things similar to tithing. The Book of Mormon describes a vast pre-Columbian culture that supposedly existed for centuries in North and South America. This ever-expanding book is upheld as "open scriptural canon" alongside the Christian Bible and the Book of Mormon, distinguishing Mormonism from other Abrahamic religions' almost-exclusive reliance upon interpretation of the Torah, Christian Bible or Qu'ran. (It's also the means by which church members of the LDS Church were notified after 1978 that people of African descent were no longer banned from the priesthood.)
